Christian advises fund managers and investors in the field of alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, debt, real estate, crypto) on investment-regulatory and corporate-law matters. Moreover, he provides advice and support to financial-services companies in the context of license proceedings before Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) and on matters under the German Banking Act (KWG) and the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG).

Education and Career

Christian studied law in Kiel. His practical legal training at the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court included a stint with Sullivan & Cromwell in Frankfurt/Main. Prior to joining SMP, Christian was an attorney with a major German law firm in Hamburg.
