Berlin – Schnittker Möllmann Partners (SMP) has advised the Berlin-based tech company Tourlane on its latest financing round. As a new investor, Sequoia led the Series B financing round with a total volume of 24 million US dollars. This is the American VC's second investment in a German company. In addition to the U.S. investor, the existing investors HV Holtzbrinck Ventures, DN Capital and Spark Capital participated in the growth financing. According to Tourlane, the new capital will benefit the company's expansion. Tour-lane received comprehensive legal advice from a team led by SMP partner Peter Möllmann.
Tourlane is a tech company headquartered in Berlin. The consulting portal for individual travel was found-ed in 2016 by Julian Stiefel and Julian Weselek and, according to their own information, employs over 120 people.
Sequoia, founded in 1972 by Don Valentine, is one of the world's most renowned venture capital funds. The Silicon Valley early-stage investor specializes in energy, finance, healthcare, Internet and digital. Apple and Cisco are among the companies financed by Sequoia, as are Whatsapp and Paypal.
