Berlin – Schnittker Möllmann Partners (SMP) advised Project A Ventures on the launch of its third venture capital fund with a total volume of EUR 180 million. Besides the European Investment Fund (EIF), the fund investors included Otto Group and U.S. Investor Top Tier Capital Partners. The challenge from a tax perspective consisted in implementing the Project A Ventures approach as an operational VC company for foreign investors and the German management team. The seed investor is planning to invest the fresh capital in roughly 25 new formations. In this context, the VC company focuses primarily on companies from the industry, logistics, digital health, fintech and mobility sectors. Project A Ventures received comprehensive legal and tax advice from a team led by SMP partners Fabian Euhus, Helder Schnittker and Lennart Lorenz. SMP already supported Project A Ventures on the launch of the predecessor funds and has also been acting as advisor to the seed investor on investments and exits. With its next-generation fund, Project A Ventures will be active as a regulated EuVECA manager going forward.
