Berlin - SMP advised Swiss insurance group Baloise on the structuring of two projects as part of the expansion of its mobility ecosystem. Under the title "Simply Safe", the group is pursuing, among other things, a strategy of opening up new business areas beyond its core product. Together with the company builder Bridgemaker, Baloise established the joint venture "aboDeinauto", the first car subscription provider that focuses on used vehicles. aboDeinauto enables customers to temporarily subscribe to a used car and thus simultaneously shortens the downtime of vehicles at used car dealerships.
Baloise also invested in the Berlin-based fleet service provider Ben Fleet Services together with the energy company EnBW. A team led by SMP partners Tim Schlösser and Stephan Bank provided comprehensive legal advice to Baloise on the establishment of the joint venture aboDeinauto with the company builder Bridgemaker and on its investment in the mobility infrastructure provider Ben Fleet Services.
"With Ben Fleet Services and aboDeinauto, Baloise is investing in an interesting market, opening up new business areas that go beyond its core product," says partner Tim Schlösser. "We are pleased that we were able to provide advice on these exciting cross-border projects and are observing further developments in the market with a lot of interest" partner Stephan Bank adds.
