SMP advises Acton Capital and Project A
on investment in Laserhub

Berlin - SMP advised the international growth investor Acton Capital Partners (Acton Capital) on its investment in the digital industry marketplace Laserhub. In addition, the existing investors Project A and Point Nine Capital also participated in the Series A financing round, which was led by Acton Capital. Last summer, Laserhub had already successfully raised a seven-digit amount; at that time SMP provided legal advice to Project A. To date, Laserhub offers its products on the markets in Germany, Austria and France. According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to expand throughout Europe. Acton Capital received comprehensive legal advice from a team led by SMP partner Benjamin Ullrich. The team regularly advises the investor on its investments - most recently in LemoneOne, expertlead and The Female Company.

"The investment illustrates how digitization can also change traditional industries such as metal processing. We are very pleased that we were able to accompany Acton Capital along with Project A in their investments", says Benjamin Ullrich.

Acton Capital Partners
Acton Capital Partners is an international growth venture capital investor headquartered in Munich. Since 1999, the Acton team invests in companies in the consumer internet segment in Europe and North America with a focus on the areas of SaaS, Re-/E-commerce, Future of Work, Mobility, HealthCare and FinTech. Its portfolio includes companies such as HomeToGo, Cluno, ExpertLead or Zenjob. As of now the team has invested approximately EUR 600 million in nearly 90 companies across five funds.

Laserhub is a B2B startup based in Stuttgart, which has developed a vertically integrated, manufacturer-independent procurement platform for individual metal parts. A smart algorithm matches the individual wishes of the customers with the resources of the producers from the Laserhub network. This reduces both process and parts costs as well as the ordering and processing time for the procurers. The advantage for the producers is the utilisation of free production resources, which leads to an increase in profitability. Laserhub acts as the single contractual partner for all parties involved and is responsible for the entire process: from the automatic preparation of quotations to order placement, implementation, logistics and invoicing. The company was founded in 2017 by Adrian Raidt, Christoph Rößner and Jonas Schweizer in Stuttgart.

Project A
Project A is an international venture capital company. The early-stage investor and operational VC in digital technologies is headquartered in Berlin. The company was founded in 2012 and its portfolio includes companies such as Catawiki, WorldRemit, Homeday, Spryker, KRY, sennder, Voi and Trade Republic.
