Berlin - SMP advised Munich-based growth investor Acton Capital on its investment in The Female Company. Besides Acton Capital, IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft and existing investors, Burda Principal Investments also participated in the financing round. The Female Company intends to use the fresh capital to further develop the fields tech & data as well as for the extension of its product portfolio. Acton Capital received comprehensive legal advice from a team led by SMP partner Benjamin Ullrich.

The Female Company
The Female Company is a FemCare startup headquartered in Stuttgart. The company specialises in the production of bio-tampons, but also develops and sells other bio-period products. In addition to sales via its own online shop, selected products are listed by leading drugstore chains. Further, the company lobbied for the reduction of the VAT on hygiene products, which was passed into law at the beginning of the year. The Female Company was founded in 2018 by Ann-Sophie Claus and Sinja Stadelmaier.
