Berlin - Schnittker Möllmann Partners (SMP) advised the Berlin-based Insurtech start-up Coya on another financing round. The financing round was again led by Valar and has a total volume of 25 million euros. In addition to Valar, the existing investors e.ventures and LaFamiglia also increased their investment in the Insurtech start-up. The tech investor yabeo also participated in this financing round, along with other well-known investors.
Since the company was founded, Coya has been comprehensively advised on all corporate law matters by an SMP team comprising Stephan Bank (lead partner) and associate Jonathan Wennekers. The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) is currently reviewing the admission of Coya AG as a fully-licensed and regulated insurance stock corporation. This latest financing round is a decisive step in the licensing process. With its fully digitized approach, the Berlin based Insurtech aims to play a leading role in the European property insurance market of the new economy.
